Leaving a gift in your will

Your legacy could help save lives for generations to come

If you are considering leaving a gift in your Will and would like to make a world of difference to our work and support our patients today, tomorrow and into the future, please leave a legacy to University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity.

Whatever you’re able to give, we promise to always treat you and your gift with sensitivity and respect. We understand that your Will is personal, and that your family and friends should come first. You can change your mind at any time – but we hope that you’ll consider remembering us in this special way. We’re here if you’d like to talk.

It’s the gifts that our supporters kindly leave us in their Wills today that have helped us go the extra mile for our patients.

You may be surprised to know that around two thirds of the Charity’s funding is thanks to gifts in Wills. Without this type of support, we simply wouldn’t be able to offer the standard of care that our patients deserve.

Marie, head of Nursing and Professions for Women’s Childrens and Cancer Care

Whether it’s a piece of new equipment, a pioneering new research project, or a little something extra to enhance our patients’ hospital experience, your legacy gift will go a long way in keeping this hospital world class.

In just the past few years, gifts in Wills have helped us to:

  • Build our Butterfly Garden for patients at the end-of-life to enjoy a beautiful space outdoors.
  • Provide an Extremities CT Scanner that can be moved to provide CT scans of arms and legs.
  • Fund the Child Development Centre at Poole Hospital.
  • Fund a Walkerbot which is a revolutionary robotic trainer to help patients relearn to walk after a stroke.
